Dozens of open-air facilities are reporting high occupancy for the upcoming Easter vacation, despite rain that could lash several areas of the country, causing many tourists to book 72 hours in advance. Understandable attitude considering the frequent rainfall in March.
Despite this variable, the forecast records 85 percent average occupancy, a figure released by the Spanish Federation of Campgrounds (FEEC). Considerable numbers for a season that is ready to restart right around the Easter holidays. After last year, with 10.2 million travelers and nearly 50 million overnight stays, the forecast for this 2025 is positive, and the (FEEC) estimates that the average occupancy rate for Easter, given the weather that could worsen, will be 80 percent.
Ana Beriaín, president of FEEC, said, “We are starting a new high season with the same forecasts as in recent years: to be the benchmark vacation spot for millions of Spaniards. This Easter and if the weather allows us, we will reach between 85 and 90 percent of the national average occupancy, with bungalows practically full and pitches for campers, caravans and caravans at 70 percent “.
On weather, he adds, “However, weather uncertainty drives thousands of vacationers to book their vacations only 72 hours in advance and choose beach or mountain destinations based on the weather.”
