Hospitality Award – Inclusivity and Hospitality, Italy’s leading international event for hôtellerie and catering, organized by Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, took place last week. The event confirmed an increasingly evident shift in the hospitality sector that fully includes the camping world with increasingly conscious, inclusive and sustainable proposals.
The rich calendar of the event included the awarding of the best project “Hospitality Award – Inclusivity and Hospitality,” held on Friday, June 6. The award was given to “L’Insolito Posto: dove l’accoglienza è per tutti,” the social vacation home in Saonara, in the province of Padua, designed to provide hospitality that is accessible to all. The award was presented to Pierluigi Doná and Nelda Sanavia, president and vice president, respectively, of Il Glicine social cooperative at The Unusual Place.
The contest was conceived by the Hospitality fair in collaboration with WMF to give visibility to concrete projects capable of breaking down barriers (physical, sensory, cognitive, dietary and cultural), and give space to settings where autonomy, comfort and dignity of the guest are central. Among the many competing projects are also those of numerous campgrounds, increasingly inclusive and conscious facilities.
The projects were evaluated by a panel of judges composed of Giovanna Voltolini, Exhibition Manager of Hospitality – The Hospitality Show, Roberto Vitali, CEO and co-founder of Village for all – V4A®, and Domenico Castaldo, Innovation Manager of Search On Media Group, who carefully assessed: concrete impact on accessibility and inclusivity for guests; degree of technological, managerial or experiential innovation; sustainability and replicability of the proposed model; and quality of project communication.
Alessandra Albarelli, Director General of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, the organizing body of the Hospitality fair explained, “We launched this contest to stimulate a cultural transformation in the HoReCa sector, promoting a more equitable, responsible and innovative approach to hospitality.” The response was many facilities increasingly in line with these priorities, a shift in the industry’s direction that is becoming more and more evident.
