An increasingly immersive and high-quality stay are aspects that affect the results, which for this 2025 summer season would seem to be rosy. This is stated by FAITA Federcamping, based on the analysis compiled by the CISET Research Center of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice on a sample of more than 200 companies.
The study looked at booking and occupancy trends recorded up to mid-May, which forecast at the close of the season, an average increase in arrivals and presences of +1.3 percent and +1.4 percent, respectively, compared to summer 2024. This calculates growth that could record 73 million presences at Italian open-air facilities.
As shown in FAITA statements, “In absolute numbers, the 2024 season recorded in the approximately 2,600 companies in the sector offering 1.3 million beds on a daily basis, 11 million arrivals, 52 percent of which came from abroad, for more than 72 million stays, with an average stay of 6.5 nights per guest.”
Alberto Granzotto, president FAITA Federcamping states, “Today the vacation in close contact with nature has all the comforts and principles of a luxury understood as environmental sustainability, accessibility and quality of services. The success of Italian open-air businesses, which today represent a model at the European level, rests above all on these foundations “.
According to one of the focuses of CISET’s analysis, along the Italian coasts total flows are expected to increase by almost +2 percent compared to summer 2024, and turnover by +1 percent, despite the fact that expected price growth is around +2 percent. The Northeast plays the lion’s share, confirming itself as the area with the most positive trend in Italy.
Also emerging is the occupancy rate at Italian open-air facilities by month: 55 percent in July and 66 percent in August. The trend for the “low season” is also up, with 31 percent average occupancy in September and 12 percent in October.
