Open-air tourism: councilor Caner applauds FAITA Federcamping, Veneto confirms its leadership at the national level

We report what theVeneto Regional Council Press Office said.

A heartfelt thank you to FAITA-Federcamping and its president. Alberto Granzotto for the great work they are doing to benefit not only open-air businesses, but the entire national tourism system. The analyses released today confirm that the Association’s data culture, foresight and expertise have strategically directed the industry: FAITA is leading the transformation of outdoor tourism, and Veneto confirms its leadership at the national level. In fact, the industry is growing in a consistent, organized and professional way. Not only increasing numbers, but above all, a qualitative leap in the entrepreneurial culture of enterprises in the sector “.

This is the comment made by the Veneto Region’s Councillor for Tourism, Federico Caner, on the sidelines of the presentation of forecast data on the summer of 2025, prepared by the CISET Research Center of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, on a sample of more than 200 companies.

At the national level, the data speak for themselves: for the 2025 season , more than 73 million presences are expected in the more than 2,600 Italian open-air facilities, more than 52 percent of which come from abroad. Veneto is confirmed as the national locomotive, with already high occupancy rates in the central months of summer and excellent prospects for the tail end of the season as well.

Coastal campgrounds are already showing very high occupancies, predicting values between 90 percent and 80 percent in June and a good hold until the end of August, never falling below 75 percent. The lake sector also shows a season in strong growth, with occupancies that, although starting off more restrainedly than the sea in the second half of June (with values ranging from around 90% to 70%), then remain solidly above 80% until mid-August. These are encouraging signs, reflecting a robust and well-distributed summer demand for the product over time. ADR values are projected to be higher for both divisions at times than in 2024, indicating a greater propensity for spending by guests and an increasing enhancement of the offer.

Analysis of the content expressed by users between mid-May and mid-June returns a very positive picture overall for Veneto campgrounds, with a sentiment of 84.7/100, registering an increase of +3.3 over the previous year. While there is some room for improvement in perceived costs or infrastructural connections, the strengths clearly emerge in the favorable location, cleanliness, professionalism of the staff and the many services offered, especially family friendly. Convivial atmosphere and good hospitality turn out to be appreciated elements that contribute to a more engaging experience.

Today, the open-air vacation is synonymous with sustainability, quality, freedom and contact with nature, and it is increasingly in demand by an attentive and aware international tourism ,” Caner continues. “ Veneto, with its coasts, lakes and mountains, has always believed in this model, but it is also thanks to FAITA if today we can speak of a true ecosystem, which knows how to work as a system and knows how to innovate.

My thanks,” the Councilor concludes, “va also to all the companies that have taken up this modernization challenge, focusing on training, data, services and attention to the environment. This is the right path, and Veneto will continue to support it with conviction “.
