The overview of bookings at campgrounds as of the end of December 2023, according to Septeo Hospitality<\/a>‘s monthly barometer, offers an encouraging look at the 2024 tourist season<\/strong>. Despite the call for caution based on last season’s performance, current data indicate a significant increase. Exactly +22%<\/strong> in booking <\/strong>volume for the October-December period compared to the previous year. This positive trend is also reflected in theincrease in sales<\/strong>, which recorded a remarkable +27%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Reservations and sales increase<\/h2>\n\n

Particularly significant is the analysis of December, which saw an impressive +16% increase in bookings <\/strong>compared to December 2022, accompanied by a +18%<\/strong> increase in sales<\/strong>. The predominant clientele, with 56%<\/strong>, are French tourists. In the bungalow<\/strong> sector, the average basket reached \u20ac1,384, marking a 5.6 percent increase, while bare pitches <\/strong>saw a 3.4 percent increase, bringing the average basket to \u20ac716. At the same time, an interesting contrast emerges in the average length of stay<\/strong>. In bungalows, this remains stable at 8.51 days, while in bare pitches there is a 3.8 percent decrease<\/strong>, with an average of 9.68 days.<\/p>\n\n

The boom is still in the summer<\/h2>\n\n

Analyzing the distribution of stays over the season, we see that July <\/strong>and August <\/strong>maintain a central role, accounting for half of the total stays<\/strong>. However, there are changes in booking volumes for the months of March<\/strong>, April <\/strong>, and May<\/strong>, affected by changes in the dates of bridges and holidays in 2024. Currently, April <\/strong>and June <\/strong>show a decrease compared to 2023, while May <\/strong>shows a significant increase in stay volumes for all nationalities. September also seems to be progressing positively. When analyzing trends by nations, attention should be paid to the data on the retreat of French reservations<\/strong> at the end of December, contrasted by theadvance of Dutch reservations<\/strong>. It is important not to draw any hasty conclusions, but these early indicators may suggest interesting dynamics in the performance of the 2024 tourist season.<\/p>\n\n
