His appointment follows the tenure of <strong>Monica Saielli<\/strong>, who led the Federation for ten years, accompanying the growth and affirmation of outdoor tourism as a structural component of Italy&#8217;s tourism offerings. <\/p>\n\n<p>A native of Viareggio, owner of Camping Bosco Verde in Torre del Lago Puccini (Viareggio), Montemagni has been involved in representing businesses in the sector for many years: formerly president of camping owners of Confesercenti Toscana Nord and then regional president of Assocamping Toscana, he was until now national deputy vice president of Assocamping Confesercenti.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The open-air tourism sector confirms its weight in the Italian tourism industry<\/h2>\n\n<p>In 2024, campgrounds and resorts counted 2,751 enterprises, accounting for more than 1.3 million beds, and exceeded 11.5 million arrivals and 68.5 million presences, with the highest average stay among all accommodation types, around six nights.  <\/p>\n\n<p>In a decade, the movement has grown significantly, mainly due to international demand, while direct spending by outdoor tourists is estimated at about 5 billion euros, with economic induced income exceeding 8 billion.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Following the election, President Montemagni comments, &#8220;<em>I thank my colleagues for their trust. I pick up the baton from Monica Saielli after a decade in which open air tourism has grown in visibility and recognition. Now a new phase is opening: businesses need certainty, clear and stable rules, and investment support for facility upgrading, environmental sustainability and service innovation.
