“Greedy campers”, the guide for campers who love good food

Calm, freedom, discovery of well-known territories but also the search for places far from traditional tourist routes: this and much more is the camper experience between nature and city, sea and mountains, moving slowly and without too much planning, changing landscape every day. All this and much more talks about “Camper Golosi” (“Greedy Campers”), a guide for campers with particular attention to the typical gastronomic products of Italy, to be released in bookstores on July 14th for FVE Editori. The volume is signed by Enzo Cortesi from Forlì, entrepreneur in the nautical sector and passionate motorhome owner.

Camper tourism has grown a lot in recent years, and also thanks to post-pandemic life, many travelers have opted and are choosing routes in the name of freedom and safety. Traveling by camper has a therapeutic power, excellent for finding inner balance, dedicating free time to one’s passions and contact with nature. And in a territory like the Italian one, when it comes to passions, one can only talk about food and wine: “It was so natural to think of this volume in close connection with the consortia for the promotion of typical Italian products,” explains Cortesi. “A guide that could go beyond simple data, inserting the journey into a territorial context, photographing an area starting from the typical product. With 82 consortia, information and suggestions for travelers, “Greedy Campers” is dedicated both to the great mobile home enthusiasts and to those who are approaching this type of tourism for the first time ».

Divided by regions, the volume travels the boot from north to south, in search of products that tell the geography of a place, its history and its traditions, including tips for food and wine tourism that sink into the roots of Italian tradition: from Castelmagno DOP of Piedmont to the wines of Castel del Monte from Puglia; from Calabrian licorice to Carpegna PDO Marche ham. And then Ligurian oil, Sardinian artichokes, Amalfi lemons, Emilian mushrooms of Borgotaro PGI and much, much more between good food and good drink traveling by camper.

«The book was born with the desire to create cohesion, going together with the discovery of the territories, with a slow, sustainable tourism close to the traditions of the people we meet on the road», comments Cortesi.
