Tents suspended in the air, the last frontier of glamping

A system of transparent tents suspended in the air that allows you to experience an adventure in the open air, but with all the typical comforts of a five-star accommodation facility. It’s called Floating Retreat and it’s the new concept of camping in nature. The glamping is located in the mountains of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and it promotes environmental awareness with unique breathtaking views.

Designed by Ardh Architects, the idea of Floating Retreat was born by exploring new potential architectural spaces that could be transformed into glamping. What attracted the architects was the absence of stress and the serenity that comes from staying in one of the pods suspended in the mountains.

Floating Retreat’s goal is to narrow the gap between extreme adventurers and casual hikers, as it offers everyone the chance to feel the freedom of the air like paragliding, but without the thrill of risk. Furthermore, the glamping wants to boost local tourism, allowing people to connect with the beautiful nature of Sharjah mountains. For this, the suspended campsite serves as a hub for the adventures that can be done in the area such as hiking, mountaineering, paragliding, trekking and much more.
