Trentino, 8 hectares of forest under tender for the construction of a luxury campsite

The Municipality of Cavedago, in Trentino, will launch a tender to assign 8 hectares of wooded land in order to build a new luxury campsite. The land, located in the locality of Priori on the marvelous Paganella plateau, will be entrusted with a 50-year concession to whoever presents the highest increase on the auction-based rent, set at 81,904 euros per year. The offers will be secret and the call will be open in the coming weeks.

The future concessionaire of the land, in addition to taking care of the construction of the 5-star campsite at his own expense, will also have to take care of the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the surrounding woodland. Furthermore, the project will have to obtain the positive Strategic Environmental Assessment by the local authorities.

The Municipality also established that the future 5-star camping-village must have a minimum accommodation capacity of 1,000 people, it must remain open for at least ten months per year and it must have an equipped area inside motorhomes of at least 2,000 square metres. Last but not least, the concessionaire will have to provide for the design and construction of the necessary urbanization works, including the sewerage, electricity and telephone networks, as well as the aqueduct and road adaptation. These works will be acquired by the Municipality of Cavedago at the end of the 50-year concession.

The successful tenderer will have to present the implementation plan to the municipal offices within 6 months of signing the contract, and the executive project must be presented within the following 6 months. From the approval of the latter, the construction of the structure must be completed within 24 months and the accommodation business must open to the public within 6 months after the conclusion of the works.

In the future campsite it will be possible to construct buildings intended for camping services and equipment (toilets, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, and the permanent housing units may include tree houses. The total energy requirement must be guaranteed for 20% from renewable energy sources and the irrigation of the green areas from the recovery of rainwater.
