Fixed and mobile installations, more spaces in Swiss campsites

The Ticino councilors Alessandro Speziali (Plr) and Alessandro Gnesa (Lega) have filed a bill that aims to expand the current limit to fixed installations in campsites.

If the proposal is approved, from a maximum of 30 per cent, in the future it will be possible to reach up to 40 per cent of the surface area to be dedicated to the total number of places reserved for the parking of mobile installations, which can remain unoccupied for several days or fixed.

The two deputies explain: “This would allow, among other things, to favor the seasonal adjustment of tourist periods, favor greater tourist mobility by rail and facilitate those who intend to rent a place in the campsite and then move for certain days to nearby regions, such as for example the valleys”.

The success that glamping has also had in Ticino has convinced Speziali and Gnesa to suggest encouraging camping with a proposal that would like to reflect the new market demands and trends in the area.

Switzerland will therefore aim to increase the offer of fixed and mobile installations, in favor of glamping (increasingly eco-sustainable also in construction and management), but also of lodges, bungalows and pods. All choices also in vogue among the younger generations and families.

A final premise remains in the proposal by Alessandro Speziali and Alessandro Gnesa: to maintain “always and in any case a large area in favor of more classic camping (caravans, traditional tents, campers)”.
