In France there is great desire to travel. Despite the economic challenges related to inflation, the French remain willing to take a vacation. According to data presented by the Minister of Tourism, Olivia Grégoire, Caroline Leboucher of Atout France and François de Canson of ADN Tourisme, 73% of French people have expressed the desire to leave this summer, and most of them (73% ) is considering the possibility of spending their holidays within the national borders. A significant fact that demonstrates the attractiveness of French destinations and the desire to discover the wonders of one’s own country.
59% of French people intending to leave have planned a long stay, an increase of 4% compared to the previous year. This trend translates into an average length of stay of 11 days, allowing travelers to fully immerse themselves in the experience and fully enjoy the natural and cultural beauties that France has to offer.
Data supports a camping boom in France. As far as outdoor accommodation is concerned, campsites are experiencing a period of great success. According to France Tourisme’s observational barometer, industry professionals have recorded a 5% increase in the volume of overnight stays expected for the whole season compared to the same period in 2022. This positive trend is also driven by international visitors, with an increase by 15% in the number of overnight stays compared to last year on the same date. France is preparing to welcome a record turnout in the summer tourism sector, paving the way for a successful season for camping and outdoor tourism.
