- Camping area (64,683.76 square metres): This section will house the heart of the campsite, with the capacity to accommodate up to 332 places, allowing for the installation of different types of accommodation, including mobile, semi-mobile and fixed.
- Pre-existing sports area (19,575.99 square meters): The existing sports area will be preserved and includes a municipal athletics track and sports facilities for sports lovers.
- Parking area (15,068.95 square metres): An area dedicated to visitors who wish to reach the campsite by car, guaranteeing convenient access.
- Roads and accesses (20,833.81 square metres): Roads and accesses are provided to allow easy circulation within the camping area.
The campsite project will include visitor services, including shower and toilet areas, new buildings, such as warehouses and collective accommodation for leisure and education, and the redevelopment of existing buildings which could be used for workshops, educational activities, scientific conferences and classrooms. Furthermore, common spaces are planned, including a reception, a restaurant, a games room, a playground, a swimming pool, services, and staff accommodation. With the implementation of the project, the Municipality of Lleida aims to offer a high-quality camping experience for residents and visitors, creating a tourist attraction in the heart of the city. The combination of green areas, sports facilities and high-quality services promises to satisfy the needs and desires of all those who choose to stay in this new camping facility.
What are urban campsites
The concept of urban camping has spread in Europe for about a decade, but in Spain it has found greater acceptance within the camping and city system. Urban camping is also synonymous with the “right to housing”, thus abandoning, in some cities such as Milan, the simple meaning of space dedicated to tourism.
