In 1994, LeadingCampings of Europe, a group that brought together the best four- and five-star campsites throughout Europe, was born in Düsseldorf. This year, to celebrate its 30th anniversary and welcome eight new campsites to the network, Leading Campings held a dinner during the CMT in Stuttgart . LeadingCampings president Simone Pokrandt, along with the general manager, celebrated three decades in business. The network now has 45 campsites.
Statements from director Simone Pokrandt
“Our mission is to host only the best luxury campsites in Europe. For 30 years, we have been setting standards in the European outdoor hospitality market” said Pokrandt. He emphasized that despite the significant growth of campsites in recent years, only the best of the best are part of the LeadingCampings circle.“We want to continue to grow in the future, but not at any price: quality trumps quantity.” During the event, the association’s founding members in 1994 were remembered: Union Lido (Italy), Südsee-Camp (Germany) and Playa Montroig (Spain). Also mentioned were members who joined in 1995: Camping Nommerlayen (Luxembourg), Caravanpark Sexten (Italy) and Hvidbjerg Strand (Denmark).
