This beautiful northwestern corner of Spain, overlooking the Cantabrian Sea, is increasingly a confirmation of outdoor tourism. The green Asturias, in spite of the arid areas that mark most of the country, are a real revelation.
The Autonomous Community of Asturias is increasingly oriented toward a tourism proposal based on respect for the environment and sustainability, and offers immersive solutions for a vacation in close contact with nature, traditions, lots of sports and zero-mile specialties. A reality of great possibilities, a real driving force for the national economy with a great vocation for tourism, despite the fact that it has little more than a million inhabitants.
The camping sector excels with over 50 facilities, mostly concentrated along the Costa Verde and in Somiedo Nature Park, a protected area since 1988.
In recent days, theCamping Association of Asturias, presented the first edition of the Salón Nortur to present the Camping Awards 2024, at the Avilés convention center. During the event, the winners were presented: the Campsite Las conchas of Llanes, the Campsite Fin de Siglo of Villaviciosa, and the Playa Sauces Campground of Ribadesella.
At the event, Asturias’ Vice Councilor for Tourism, Lara Martinez and the President of the Campsites of Asturias, Laura Arias, presented the medal Campista de Honor 2024 a José Manuel Ferrero , former president of the Association of Campsites of Aragon, and to his wife Maria del Salz Ligorrez for their dedication and long professional careers in promoting campsites.
