The Salone del Camper, organized by Fiere di Parma and Apc – Associazione Produttori Caravan e Camper, is an international showcase with more than 100,000 square meters of exhibition space, with more than 300 exhibitors and over 600 recreational vehicles displayed by Italian and European manufacturers. For this 15th edition, there are many new features, such as the area reserved for Camping Accessories where you can find everything you need for an open-air trip, the Routes and Destinations, to discover itineraries, destinations and new experiential visions through a careful selection of guides and publications, and finally the area dedicated to Shopping, a real mini-fair destined for everything that cannot be missed in en plein air travel.
The event, sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, raised the curtain last Sept. 14, and will close it on Sept. 22, a unique opportunity for those in the industry and for the many enthusiasts of itinerant tourism and outdoor activities.
As stated by Antonio Cellie, CEO of Fiere di Parma; “The Camper Salon is a driving force for the entire tourism sector. An indispensable event for vehicle manufacturers but also for the entire supply chain, as well as for enthusiasts, who find vehicles, accessories, innovation, equipment, technological novelties, destinations and ideas here. The numbers for the 2024 edition speak of an industry that continues to grow: an increase of about 4 percent in vehicles, well over 600 different models on display, growth in exhibitors, over 300, and a total area of over 110 thousand square meters. We are a window on an increasingly green and sustainable future,” Cellie concludes, “and our investments are also going in this direction, with a 20-million-euro plan earmarked for green-looking restyling of the quarters, aimed at improving the facilities and offering an even more engaging and immersive experience for exhibitors and visitors during high-profile events such as the Camper Show “.
Also present at the opening of this 15th edition was the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè who stressed, “Open-air tourism is traveling toward 8 billion in revenue and is the second largest mode of overnight stays in Italy. We have earmarked a specific fund to support this sector and are currently working on a call for proposals dedicated to RV parks, with the aim of closing the gap with other European countries and further enhancing the enormous potential of open-air tourism, an area in which Italy still has much to offer “.
