According to recent data from the tourism sector, a week of camping costs an average of about 1,600 euros. This figure is based on a family of four staying in a tent or on a RV site. The total price includes the reserved space, basic tourist services, and access to the resort’s common areas.
Costs vary greatly depending on the type of accommodation chosen. Adventure seekers often look for basic, budget-friendly accommodations. Choosing a permanent accommodation, on the other hand, drastically changes the final cost of the vacation. Renting a bungalow involves a significantly higher expense. The average increase on the market is 65% compared to a simple campsite.
Tent or bungalow: Which option should you choose?
There are logical and valid reasons for the 65% price increase. The bungalows feature fully equipped kitchens and private en suite bathrooms. They almost always include air conditioning, furnished outdoor patios, and very comfortable beds. There’s no need to haul heavy equipment or set up complex structures under the sun. For a family of four, the weekly cost easily exceeds 2,600 euros in the height of summer. It remains, however, a very competitive alternative to traditional hotels.
The final choice depends entirely on the family’s priorities. On the one hand, there’s the spirit of adventure and the significant savings offered by a traditional tent. On the other hand, there’s the absolute comfort of a permanent cabin equipped with every amenity. In either case, booking in advance always guarantees the best rates.
