Fontemaggio

Camping ‘Fontemaggio’ is one of the first campsites in Italy and very popular with those who enjoy being in contact with nature. There are numerous pitches for campers, caravans and tents, as well as ample space for coaches. The campsite is easy to reach and is a 15-minute walk from the historic centre of Assisi. For those who have trouble walking, the absence of a shuttle service to the historic centre can be compensated for by the many pay car parks in the city or an efficient radio taxi service. Tours and donkey trekking can be organised by prior arrangement. Many pitches are shaded and have a beautiful view of the Umbrian valley. A beautiful playground (all in compliance with standards), surrounded by greenery, is a source of great joy for families with children. By choice there are no noisy entertainment activities, as it is believed that the campsite is more liveable if it is quiet and peaceful. During the high season, there is also a café-bar with homemade ice cream and a minimarket with all the essentials.
