Pompei

Among the Pompeii camp sites, Camping ‘Pompei’ is the least isolated and the closest to the city centre. Situated on the extension of the ancient road of the ‘Golden Mile’, it still retains its original ‘basal’ paving; it is the most convenient for reaching the Pompeii excavations, as it is opposite 2 of the 3 entrances to the archaeological site (Lower Marine Gate – Forum and Theatres area and Upper Marine Gate – Villa of the Mysteries area). The ancient avenue (Via Plinio), has a wide, well-lit pavement that guarantees a pleasant evening stroll beside the thick pine forest that precedes the walls of the Pompeii Ruins.
