It was 1955 when the first seaside campground was born. Its name was NSU Lido, and it was designed to accommodate employees and motorcyclists of the historic German car manufacturer NSU. In the 1970s it changed its name to Union Lido, and today we know it as Union Lido Mare, and this year it is celebrating 70 years since its opening, always keeping on the crest of the Adriatic wave.
This historic facility in Cavallino-Treporti is Italy’s first five-star campsite and a reference point in the panorama of European open-air tourism. A true model of innovation and respect for the territory, with the aim of offering vacations that are not only unforgettable, but also in harmony with nature.
Union Lido Mare can be defined as a forerunner of modern open-air facilities: it has always stood out for its innovative concept that has allowed it to distinguish itself in Italy and abroad as a cutting-edge facility, an authentic Veneto excellence that has set the standard throughout Europe: here a way of conceiving tourist hospitality related to camping was born, which today has become common heritage in the tourism sector. From integrated family services to eco-sustainability, from thematic entertainment to personalized hospitality, standards akin to its motto: “Much more than a campsite, an oasis between Sea and Lagoon, where you are free to be yourself.”
Union Lido Mare, an oasis it really is, has always been committed to promoting sustainable and responsible tourism, adopting solutions that respect and protect the environment. Not surprisingly, the facility has been awarded the Green Travel Awards as Best Eco-Sustainable Village, and among the first in Italy to obtain ISO 14001 certification.
To celebrate Union Lido Mare’s 70th anniversary in the best way possible, in 2025 theAqua Park Marino will be transformed into Speedy Island, a revolutionary new area designed to offer a multi-sensory and inclusive experience, including slides for the little ones, relaxation areas for parents, a 25-meter pool for swimmers, and many attractions for the older ones. The entire renovation project of the water park area included the use of environmentally sustainable materials and careful water recycling systems, all perfectly blended into the landscape, enhancing the natural environment of the campground.
