FAITA Emilia-Romagna: outdoor tourism grows and invests

The Ordinary Assembly of FAITA Emilia-Romagna was held in Ravenna, in the presence of FAITA National Director Marco Sperapani andRegional Councillor for Tourism Roberta Frisoni. It was a meeting aimed at strengthening the synergy between businesses in the sector and regional institutions that support the industry. The appointment was also very useful in order to analyze the performance of the 2025 season and outline future prospects.

Emilia Romagna’s open air is increasingly a mainstay of the regional tourism economy: according to ISTAT and HBenchmark data, there are 4,242,759 registered presences as of August 31, 2025, accounting for 12 percent of total regional tourist arrivals. Significant numbers that show a 4 percent growth in arrivals in the first eight months of the year, while presences are essentially stable (+0.5 percent).

The analysis also reveals a critical issue on the international front, namely the 0.4 percent decline in foreign tourism, compared with double-digit growth (+10.9 percent) recorded by the entire non-hotel sector.

Despite this latest assessment, Emilia Romagna’s outdoor tourism earns the second position as an accommodation category, right after hotels.

Open air grows and invests

At the meeting, FAITA Federcamping Emilia-Romagna President Gianfranco Vitali emphasized the economic commitment of companies to raise the quality level of supply in the face of increasingly demanding demand. The numbers speak for themselves: a total investment of about 100 million euros is calculated, with a forecast of another 150 million euros over the next five years.

We report the following from the portal of Faita Federcamping: “The Emilia-Romagna Region has confirmed its support for the sector, including through dedicated investment tools. Included in this direction is the notice Eureka“. Emerging, then, is a true team effort that focuses everything on investment, credit and sustainability.

At the meeting,Regional Councillor for Tourism Roberta Frisoni emphasized how the role of outdoor tourism is a pillar of the regional economy, in line with the needs of tourists and akin to a conscious valorization of the territory that involves and incentivizes more and more professionals.
