For the third consecutive time, Gianfranco Vitali has been reappointed as coordinator of Destinazione Turistica Romagna, and as of January 1, 2025, he will again hold the three-year position. The decision was supported by the leadership of Ascom Confcommercio , which launches a clear signal of confidence in Vitali’s work and in his undisputed ability to lead this important regional tourism sector.
The figure of the president was described as decisive for the region, able to combine experience gained in the field over years and the ability to orient to the future with innovative insights, capable of responding to the needs of a driving sector that is constantly progressing.
President Vitali’s objectives are clear in consolidating the image of Romagna and making it more and more a protagonist on the Italian and European scene, a tourist destination that stands out for being competitive and increasingly attractive by enhancing the territory and the professionals in the sector who are part of it, including the open air realities.
Vitali states, “Destinazione Turistica Romagna is a public body of the Region that is responsible for coordinating and promoting tourism activities in one of the richest territories of history, culture and natural beauty in Italy. The upcoming goal of Destinazione Turistica Romagna is to increase the presence of foreign tourists in our regional territory. As far as Open Air tourism is concerned, specifically, in the 2024 season we recorded 10 percent more foreign tourists than the previous season. This is an excellent result for the entire sector’s supply chain. “.
