Mobile overnight accommodations in open-air facilities: cadastral irrelevance sanctioned and approved

After years of uncertainty and debated subjective interpretations by administrative bodies, thecadastral irrelevance of mobile overnight accommodations installed in open-air tourist facilities has been defined, approved and converted into law.

Thus, as of January 1, 2025, mobile structures such as caravans, caravans, mobile homes, and all mobile sleeping arrangements equipped with rotating mechanisms in operation located in campgrounds and outdoor lodging facilities will not be relevant for the purpose of cadastral representation and census.

We quote the statements of Alberto Granzotto, President of FAITA Federcamping: The standard finally settles an issue that has been open for years. The uncertainty generated by different interpretations, often conflicting, has in too long limited, in contrast to other European markets, a greater diffusion in our country of mobile overnight vehicles, equipment that instead, by their nature and characteristics, fit well with the new vacation philosophy expressed by Open Air tourism, configuring themselves as very low impact installations, of the utmost interest to national and international demand for their quality, comfort and environmental sustainability “.

The President concluded by stating, “I thank the Government and the Ministries of Tourism and Economy and Finance that with this measure on cadastral irrelevance will allow entrepreneurs to operate with serenity, but above all with the necessary certainty, in investment planning, enabling Open Air to reach the high levels of quality demanded by an increasingly dynamic and evolved demand.”
