The platform activated by MiTur allows applications intended for the creation and redevelopment of temporary rest areas for tourism purposes to be submitted. A total of 32.87 million euros has been allocated, and the call is proposed as an important opportunity for the Enhancement of outdoor tourism. Here you can view the full text of the announcement.
To submit the application, municipalities must have certain prerequisites
They must be:
- Municipalities with a population of 20,000 or less.
- Municipalities hosting recurring or large events with attendance of at least 20 thousand people.
- Municipalities submitting plans to build rest areas within 15 km of a historical and/or religious path or to a UNESCO site).
The conditions stipulated in the announcement
- The grantable contribution for each project may not exceed 80 percent of the eligible expenditure.
- The maximum amount that can be granted for a single new parking area is 400 thousand euros.
- The maximum amount for a single parking area to be upgraded is 240,000 euros.
Announcement deadline
Interested municipalities will have until 9 p.m. on Dec. 26, 2024 to access the service and submit their applications. This is the link of the page on the department’s institutional website through which to submit the application.
