During the third day of “Hospitality – Il Salone dell’Accoglienza”, the president of Faita-Federcamping Alberto Granzotto commented on the data shared during the meeting “Open air tourism in Italy: trends and prospects”, confirming a still positive scenario for Italian tourism in the open air.
“The wave of growth continues – explained Granzotto from Riva del Garda – open-air tourism in Italy will still be able to show all its potential”.
According to estimates, confirmed bookings at a national level indicate a 10-15% growth in the open-air sector, for which in 2022 there were 10.7 million arrivals for 73 million presences with a total turnover, including induced activities , of 5.5 billion euros. Open-air tourism confirms its absolute supremacy in the seaside sector, where the lake and the mountains above all record the most encouraging performances, as evidenced by the sector study presented by Andrea Agazzani of Thrends during the same conference. For the latter cluster, growth in the last four years has fluctuated between +10% and +12%, while turnover has increased by 20-30% in the last year.
“2023 is born full of promises, but the obstacles that arose during and after the pandemic remain, first of all the difficulty of finding professional personnel “hijacked” by Covid to other sectors – highlighted President Faita -Federcamping Granzotto -. The issue of work and the training of our collaborators will be a central element in order not to waste this opportunity for growth in the coming years”.
