Smart reservations with WannaCamp, the digital innovation in outdoor tourism

At the BIT – International Tourism Exchange in Milan, the new integrated management and booking platform dedicated to camping and camping villages was presented: WannaCamp. A proposal designed and managed by an innovative Italian start-up, from Forlì to be precise: it is Nuove Mete s.r.l., and we are confident in saying, that it will be a name we will hear often in the future.

The web and app platform has been developed to offer a solution akin to the times and needs of outdoor tourism, which is experiencing a season of great growth: in Italy, the camping and glamping sector is now worth more than 8 billion euros, with a growing number of people choosing this form of tourism for its authenticity and deep connection with the territory.

Incentivizing it is a public that is increasingly attentive to sustainability, freedom and contact with nature, but at the same time increasingly demanding, aiming for practical and innovative solutions, in a word “smart.” Among the demands of “latest generation” travelers are precisely quick and intuitive bookings, which are on par with search portals such as Booking.com and AirBnB for instance.

Managers of camping areas also increasingly need a showcase where they can propose their offerings that is functional and effective digital tools that improve the management of their facilities, adapting to the expectations of an evolving market.

WannaCamp was previewed at BIT, at booth P56 in Hall 11. A dedicated press conference was held in the afternoon of Sunday, February 9, and on this occasion, numerous insiders had the opportunity to learn about the digital evolution of camping and all the details of this innovative proposal.

Federico Della Giovanna, general manager of WannaCamp said, “What we are presenting today is a complete digital ecosystem, which integrates a booking portal and an advanced management system (PMS) in a single solution, making it possible to optimize the operations of managers, increase the visibility of facilities and offer tourists a modern, intuitive and reliable browsing experience.”

In fact, Wannacamp.it is a web and app platform developed to enable camping tourists to easily discover the facilities most compatible with their varied needs and have the freedom to organize their vacations independently. All in just a few clicks, easily booking the ideal stay.

The WannaCamp management system enables accommodation operators to automate many of the many daily procedures, from reservations to administrative data processing, while significantly reducing management time and costs. A concrete example is the integration with the State Police’s “Accommodation Service,” which ensures secure, smooth and timely communication to authorities.

On stage, detailing the innovation represented by WannaCamp, were the speakers. Alessandro Capra, CEO & Founder of the Parma-based software house Arsera S.r.l., the project’s technology partner, who through a navigation demo showed the audience how WannaCamp by combining eye-catching design and advanced functionality, responds perfectly to the digital demands of tourists and managers.

Concluding the conference, Gian Marco Centinaio, Vice President of the Senate of the Republic and former Minister of Tourism., by video link, highlighted the importance of projects like WannaCamp for the future of Italian tourism: “WannaCamp is an example of how technology can be the engine of growth for a key sector of our tourism, combining sustainability and modernity. This digitization project will contribute to enhance our territorial excellence and make Italy an international benchmark for outdoor tourism.”
