The States General of Tourism were held on Monday, Nov. 24 and Tuesday, Nov. 25 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone in Rome.
Attending the eagerly awaited event on both days were Mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri, Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè, Lazio Governor Francesco Rocca, and numerous institutional figures, such as Roma Capitale’s Councillor for Major Events, Sports, Tourism and Fashion Alessandro Onorato, Lazio Region’s Councillor for Tourism, Environment, Sports, Climate Change, Energy Transition, and Sustainability Elena Palazzo, and Rome Chamber of Commerce President Onorio Rebecchini.
Numerous industry professionals also attended as the States General of Tourism are an important opportunity to take stock of the state and future of tourism in its many facets, including the open-air sector.
An opportunity to highlight the changes taking place, focus on current trends and new needs dictated by the market in order to offer services that are increasingly in line with guests’ needs, and make the sector increasingly sustainable, inclusive and accessible .
During the two days of work, the topic ofartificial intelligence, a tool of the future already in place for an even better performing and competitive business, also found its place.
States General of Tourism, the two-day proceedings
On the first day of the States General, four issues were addressed with dedicated panels:
- “Grand Tour 2050, redefining tourism for people, cities and the planet.”
- “Airports: from hub to experience – The airport in the tourism ecosystem of cities.”
- “Grand Tour 2050, reception and services to tourists.”
- “Artificial Intelligence and Tourism – the city as a smart platform.”
The second day’s work focused on the various types of tourism trends and which ones are worth investing in with four more dedicated panels:
- “Cities 2050 – Branding Strategies Between Identity, Innovation and Attractiveness.”
- “Luxury 5.0 – One more day, experience and events.”
- “Culture Industries – Audiovisual and Entertainment as Tourism Drivers.”
- “Luxury 5.0 – Food top experience.”
The States General of Tourism 2025 provided an opportunity for updating and discussion in order to make the future of the tourism industry increasingly sustainable, inclusive and accessible.
