This is a crucial period for the outdoor sector in France. If on the one hand fears remain for the period of strong economic tensions, large companies such as Campings.com communicated growing numbers on bookings as early as last February.
“Good news! The 2023 season has started well for Campings.com and our hosting partners”, says the leading European platform for booking outdoor accommodation. “Bookings increased by 40% compared to 2022 This growth is currently driven by the off-season”
Campings.com’s analysis tools have also detected the financial worries of the French, hence the risks of a decline in bookings.
“The new edition of our customer barometer reveals once again a strong concern of the French in relation to the deterioration of purchasing power”, says Campinsg.com. “They will wait until the last moment to book their summer holidays”.
The only sector that does not seem to perceive the crisis in France is that of campsites, for which Campings.com has disseminated very important and positive information.
“Reassuring news, however, for outdoor hotels, camping remains one of the most popular options (72%) for going on holiday. The #DestinationFrance will remain preferred by over 70% of respondents. The most booked departments to date are Vendée, Pyrénées-Orientales, Hérault, Charente Maritime and Morbihan”
