The Italian company Human Company is preparing to close the 2023 season with important results, counting an increase of 19% in revenues and 9% in attendance compared to 2022. This success was particularly relevant during the summer months, demonstrating the continuous commitment of the company. The Italian Group expects to conclude the season exceeding 4 million visitors.
In particular, growth of 7% was recorded in the Village structures and 11% in the Camping in town, demonstrating the success of this innovative product, which has considerable growth potential. Also worth highlighting is the increase in direct bookings, particularly in the Villages during the period from April to September, with an increase of 30%.
After the difficult period caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an increase in the average length of stay. In detail, in the “villages” the average stay increased by 28%, reaching 7.08 nights, while in the “camping in towns” it increased by 10%, reaching 3.04 nights. Among the Hu openair facilities that have achieved the most significant results, Hu Park Albatros village in Tuscany achieved 95% occupancy in the months of July and August. Followed by the Hu Norcenni Girasole village in the Chianti hills and the Fabulous village, between Rome and the sea of Lazio, both with an occupancy of over 90% in the same period.
In the context of guests’ origins, Italy is confirmed as the main market, with a share of 35%, followed by the Netherlands with 27% and Germany with 20%. The presence of guests from historic markets such as France remains relevant, while the emerging Polish market stands out as it is resuming its growth after the external challenges due to the pandemic and the conflict in Ukraine.
Throughout the season, guests who chose Human Company were able to enjoy a wide range of activities and experiences designed to meet different needs and age groups. A particular emphasis was given by the group on the involvement of local associations, through free craft workshops, allowing guests to discover the traditions and excellence of the territories in which they were located. These include, for example, the production of the typical tortellini of Valeggio sul Mincio and leather processing in Tuscany. Furthermore, significant collaborations have been developed with events such as “L’Eroica,” a cycling event inspired by classic cycling.
The company has also invested in the food and drink offering, selecting the best local partners to guarantee the highest quality and enhance local cuisine. Furthermore, a technological retrofit project with IoT technologies has been launched to monitor and streamline energy consumption in mobile homes, increasingly involving guests with a view to sustainability.
Valentina Fioravanti, Chief Marketing Officer of Human Company, declared that the Group is extremely satisfied with the results obtained in 2023. The increase in revenues and attendance reflects the growing interest of guests, both Italian and foreign, for stay experiences at the open, which are becoming increasingly relevant in the travel sector. The company continues to invest in creating tailor-made, authentic and locally connected experiences.
Looking to the future, 2024 looks equally positive, with bookings growing by 23% compared to the previous year. A key moment will be the opening of sales for the Hu Eraclea village in 2025, which will represent the flagship of the Human Company Group, with a strong link with the surrounding area.
Sustainability is one of Human Company’s main objectives, guiding the company’s choices and projects. The company is working on a sustainability plan based on three pillars: nature, local communities and people, and is developing a smart sustainability report to progressively integrate sustainability issues into corporate strategies, demonstrating its commitment to preserving and enhancing the environment and the local community.
