Accessibility, sustainability and gastronomy in campsites and villages

Accessibility for all, environmental sustainability and high quality gastronomy are the most important trends for campsites, villages and outdoor accommodation facilities in this moment of growth in the sector. We talked about it with some of the protagonists of the 71st edition of SIA Hospitality Design, the fair that was held in Rimini from 12 to 14 October: in the video above, the interviews with Roberto Vitali (Village for all), Sebastiano Venneri (Legambiente) and Enzo Cortesi (author of “Camper golosi”, in English “Greedy campers”).

“In the tourism sector, campings were the first to pay attention to accessibility and inclusion, which also means increasing the quality of its offer and its business”, says Roberto Vitali of Village for all. “But above all, it means paying attention to the consumers of this new era, that is the over 65s, who are 14 million in Italy: they are not people with disabilities, but with special needs linked, for example, to mobility, sight and food. We must pay attention to the needs of people, not their disabilities, and this can be worth up to 20% of the turnover of a hospitality company”.

Sebastiano Venneri of Legambiente adds: “Accessibility and eco-sustainability must go hand in hand because they characterize the most significant entrepreneurial experiences in the tourism sector. Furthermore, being sustainable and accessible also means being economically more competitive”. The service ends with an interview with Enzo Cortesi, author of the guide “Greedy campers” for tourists who love outdoor holidays and good food.
