News for campsites from France. On December 14, Atout France held an assembly that brought together more than a hundred key figures in French tourism. Both public and private sectors. For an exchange of ideas and discussion focused on the four future scenarios of tourism development. Several experts were involved, including Nicolas Dayot, president of the FNHPA . The discussion served as a stimulus and to learn more about the activities of French campsites as well. However, one conclusion was reached: good choices by theadministration can also support theactivities of campgrounds.
What’s happening in the Eastern Pyrenees
From the debate organized by Atout France came a summary report, in French of course, available at this link. Four operational scenarios have been traced, but these currently remain little more than realistic bets on the future. However, the testimony of the camp director in the Eastern Pyrenees remains valuable: “We welcome our vacationers as soon as they arrive at the international train station located 10 km from here. In cooperation with the mayor, we set up autonomous shuttles shared with the municipality to solve the last-mile problem. These shuttles are shared between residents and tourists, encouraging interactions between them. In this way, tourists can arrive from the Netherlands, Germany andItaly using zero-emission collective transportation , which takes them directly to the door.” As in, “alone we walk fast, but together we go far.”
