Offering the services of a five-star hotel added to the freedom of an open-air accommodation facility. This is the goal of Arena Hospitality Group, the group from Pula (Istria, Croatia) which owns eight campsites with a total of 15,000 beds, as well as about fifteen hotels in Croatia, Austria, Germany and Serbia. As Il Sole 24 Ore tells us, the group invested 27.5 million euros to transform what was already considered the best campsite in Croatia into a 4-star camping resort, creating the Arena Grand Kažela. The project was carried out in collaboration with Crippaconcept and Studio 92 for the design and construction of the latest generation of mobile homes.
The conversion concerns an area of 65 hectares in Medulin, Istria, and has seen the redesign of several well-organized spaces, with great importance given to common areas and services, as well as neighborhoods dedicated to mobile home accommodation that differ in terms of location, type and vegetation. The first investment phase for the renovation of the accommodation facility led to the placement of 164 new luxurious mobile homes, two swimming pools, a new entrance, a reception of the modern poolside bars and various other entertainment facilities.
Arena Grand Kažela guests can choose between three types of new mobile homes, fully equipped for a luxury holiday in nature, called “Camping Freedom Villa”, “Camping Home Green” and “Camping Home Next”. All mobile homes are surrounded by a garden of at least 250 square meters, can accommodate up to five people and are equipped with bedrooms, LCD TV, a modern kitchen with all necessary appliances, two bathrooms with shower, air conditioning, parking car and fast wifi.
As for the common facilities, the campsite has been renovated with a central swimming pool which includes a 600 m2 children’s pool with a slide, a sun terrace with sun beds and umbrellas, a new bar, a miniclub and a kids’ club, an amphitheater. for evening shows and animation programs and a playground. There is also a second infinity pool in the area of the new luxury mobile homes, also with a new bar and terrace overlooking the pool. In addition, the investment involves the renovation of all five toilets for guests of the campsite and the restyling of the restaurant.
The heart of the structural renovation is represented by a new deluxe area which represents an upward repositioning of the level of hospitality in the campsite, thanks to the inclusion of 18 mobile homes of 57 square meters by Crippaconcept, fully equipped with direct access to the beach, independent wifi, delivery service for food and other guest needs. Each family unit has a mobile housing unit with a large kitchen and living room overlooking the sea thanks to the large window, two very large bedrooms with en suite bathroom and office corner both in the rooms and in the living room. A place for a relaxing weekend or a working holiday for extended periods, as well as for an exclusively leisure holiday. The innovative element consists of the vast outdoor area, of about 300 square meters with private garden and personal swimming pool of 12x12sqm, all fenced, not accessible from outside and positioned directly on the beach.
But the peculiarity of the plan, declares the CEO of Crippaconcept Sergio Redaelli, “does not lie only in the characteristic of the mobile homes, but in the fact that the spaces are considered differently from today’s standards. As far as we are concerned, we want to offer luxury products and develop emotional areas. We estimate that the growth of glamping can be over 10% per year ». Adds Manuela Kraljević, marketing and sales director of Arena Hospitality Group: “In this project we were able to transfer our hotel know-how, digitizing the whole experience, from the booking phase to the check in, elevating the service, the gastronomy, the sports offer and with a large entertainment team, elements that bring this format closer to that of the hotel resort ».
