Astroturism and open air: more and more campsites are becoming stargazing stays

There is great anticipation for the supermoon tomorrow, November 5. It is the last full moon of 2025 and will rise in the sign of Taurus. Astrology aside, what fascinates and involves more and more outdoor-loving tourists is the affinity between astrotourism and the open air. Indeed, more and more guests are choosing campsites to admire our satellite and the entire celestial vault, finding an authentic connection with their surroundings.

The open air allows a stay immersed in nature and at the same time an excellent opportunity to observe the night sky. Among the most popular campsites are those in Valtellina, an area famous throughout Italy for stargazing, accomplices being its pristine environment and low light pollution. In fact, in this area of Lombardy, you don’t need to climb to high altitudes to observe the night sky; you only need to reach an altitude of 1,200-1,500 meters to find ideal conditions.

Just across the Italian border, the show is on in Slovenia, where you can admire some of the most beautiful starry skies in Europe. The country reveals hidden nooks and crannies with very low light pollution, especially in the enchanting Soča Valley where everything speaks of nature, from the earth to the sky, the perfect destination for your next camping vacation.
