How to use the data provided by guests in campsites? In Spain, the Ministry of the Interior has given an extension to the transitional period for registering documents, which expires on 2 June. In other words, the obligation to communicate the documentation containing the data of customers who book or stay in Iberian tourist establishments is extended until 31 January 2024.
What happens to campsites? The structures will have nine more months to prepare for the extension and from 1 February to comply with the provisions of the Royal Decree, which contains the obligations of document registration and information of natural or legal persons who carry out accommodation and vehicle rental activities.
The choice of the extension pleases the Spanish Federation of campsites (FEEC), because it deems this new system unfeasible. «In addition to the fact that we are against asking the traveler for information that is not in an official document (identity card or passport). The request for this data would increase the reception work and the responsibility assumed by the campsites themselves” – they explain from the FEEC – we will continue to work so that this Royal Decree is modified”.
