Crippaconcept, the most important Italian player in the design and production of Made in Italy mobile homes and lodge tents for new generation open-air accommodation, organized a meeting on 20 April which hosted the leading exponents of the open-air hospitality sector air in Italy and Croatia. Three questions were at the heart of the event: in a sector where the nature and culture of a place are the driving force behind tourist entrepreneurship, what are the strategies to be introduced to preserve the environmental balance while continuing to welcome level? How do you guarantee the quality of the offer and, at the same time, work and improve your impact in terms of livability of outdoor and indoor spaces, energy saving, circularity in the use of resources and materials? And what do the data collected and the forecasts for the coming months tell us?
“We are aware of our responsibility towards the environment and the local community and we are constantly striving to evolve the open-air holiday model that is increasingly aware and respectful of nature, which offers guests a unique and authentic experience – he explained the managing director Crippaconcept Sergio Radaelli -, Our goal is to offer an unforgettable travel experience, which enhances the natural and cultural beauties of the territories we visit and which promotes an active and sustainable lifestyle. We are at a new beginning , we are ready to face the challenges of the future with enthusiasm and determination, and to work together with all the players in the sector to create a sustainable and responsible future for outdoor tourism”.
Important, targeted investments, studied in concert with professionals in the design of open-air accommodation is able to generate decisive economic and cultural repercussions for the camping sector. In addition to the speech by Valentina Fioravanti, Chief Marketing Officer of Human Company, the president of Faita Federcamping Alberto Granzotto and the director of the Croatian Camping Association Adriano Palman also spoke in Milan.
“The companies of the Italian open air are preparing for a season with expected results growing by at least 10 percentage points compared to the already excellent performance of 2022 – explained Alberto Granzotto -. The estimates are essentially based on two elements: on the one hand, the occupation recorded at Easter ’23 compared to Easter ’22 (+ 13%); on the other hand, the overall trend of bookings which have already reached around 45% of the availability offered. For this reason, the sector represents the most dynamic mode of entire national tourist offer. A result due both to the commitment of the operators who combine comfort and contact with nature in increasingly well-kept contexts, and to the specificity of the offer: authentically sustainable and suitable for every segment of demand. In particular, growth the greatest should come from foreign guests who would increase from 5.5 million arrivals to around 6, with a strong dominance for guests from central Europe (Austria, Germany and Switzerland). The internal market is more stable, which should confirm the record result of 2022, exceeding 5 million arrivals”.
“The synergy with the ministries and stakeholders from the world of politics means that in Croatia, the camping sector has a prominent position and is considered as an integral part in the processes of defining laws and regulations – explained Adriano Palman instead – We are talking about 839 accommodation facilities of which more than 38% are large structures, often owned by large groups, investment funds, etc. However, this part represents 95% of the total accommodation capacity and is driving open air in Croatia , offering increasingly higher quality standards and services. The growth of this value is constant year after year, to welcome tourists who love our country and who come mostly from Germany, Slovenia and Austria”.
Although with different approaches, open-air accommodation remains at the heart of modern tourism. It can do so thanks to the proposal of increasingly innovative accommodation and the synergistic approach between the corporate top management and the different levels of local institutions.
