ENIT: Italian tourism up again in August

ENIT has released the first figures for the current summer, and the numbers being reported are more than positive. A rosy outlook for Italian tourism, both from the point of view of bookings and the expected volume of business.

The survey was conducted by ENIT and ISNART for Unioncamere, as part of the Observatory on the Economy of Tourism of the Chambers of Commerce. From what the analysis shows, Italian tourism is growing, surpassing even the pre-pandemic year of 2019.

The season started with good results in June, July recorded 70 percent bookings, and the forecast for August is still going up, reaching 80 percent. A trend that seems not to stop even after the peak season, as data for September record 60 percent bookings.

Taking a closer look at the bookings for the coming month, the following percentages emerge: in first place is sea with 77.4 percent, in second place are mountains with 76.6 percent , in third place are art cities with 71.9 percent, and in fourth place, and growing, are destinations related to green tourism with 75.5 percent.

According to this survey, the four-month summer season 2025 calculates a total turnover of 14.7 billion.

Everyone likes Italy, and international tourism is rising at an increasingly higher rate than the Italian component. The main markets on the rise are Germany, France, the U.S., Switzerland and Canada, confirmed by airport arrivals that forecast 19 million arrivals from abroad.

Positive trends that wink at a new concept of tourism, increasingly immersive and sustainable. More and more facilities are offering solutions along these lines, and the open-air ones stand out in this virtuous dynamic, capable of directing a quality, immersive and increasingly close-to-the-territory tourism proposal.
