Second Faita Federcamping, it promises to be a positive 2025 season. Data compiled by HBenchmark, the Hospitality Data Intelligence platform, is based on bookings already made throughout the year at Italian campgrounds. The results outline an increase over last year, especially in open-air facilities in lake resorts, with +4.3 percent, and maritime facilities, with +12.5 percent.
The periods that record the most bookings are the Easter and spring holidays, while for the summer season, the July-September quarter is the most popular for lake stays, while for beach stays, the June-August quarter is confirmed.
The data examined shows the large presence of German tourists who remain regulars at Italian destinations at the lake (50.3 percent), and at the sea (52.5 percent).
The Dutch register a significant presence at the lake (20%), followed by tourists from Austria, Switzerland, Denmark and Poland. Compared to 2024, there is an increase in bookings by all nationalities.
Also emerging from the results is the most popular type of open-air stay. In both beach and lake facilities, pitches are the preferred type of accommodation, followed by bungalows/villas and caravans/mobile homes. The average length of stay at the facilities is 10 days.
Alberto Granzotto, president Faita Federcamping states: “Open-air tourism is assuming an increasingly important role in the national context, and the 2025 projection data confirm this. The reason lies in increased guest interest in our offerings, which become successful when they are attentive to service quality, inclusion and sustainability.”
