Once again this year, excellence in the en plein air industry is being recognized while helping campers choose the best open air facilities. KoobCamp Certificates of Excellence were awarded for the ninth consecutive year, rewarding the efforts of tourism entities in the areas most dear to travelers.
Among the new features 2024, the “ Accessibility “,intended for the facilities most attentive to the needs of people with disabilities, and “Bathrooms on Pitch” , which looks at extra comfort and celebrates facilities with the best pitch toilets from a structural and organizational point of view. After a two-year absence, the “Natural Paradise” award, dedicated to camping villages immersed in particularly relevant and spectacular natural paradises, is back again.
There were many facilities that stood out for their high quality and attention to adapting existing spaces and services to meet the increasingly specific needs of travelers. Among the regions to emerge in 2024 is Veneto, which takes home three awards, followed by Lazio and Abruzzo.
The winners of the categories
- Pet Friendly Award, on vacation with pets : The Gitavillage Club Degli Amici of Montalto di Castro (VT), Lazio.
- “Green” award, environment and sustainability in first place: Camping La Quercia in Lazise (VR), Veneto
- “Family” award, the facilities most attentive to family services: Camping Village Baia Azzurra Club of Castiglione della Pescaia (GR), Tuscany.
- “Accessibility” award, barrier-free vacations: Camping Village Marina di Venezia of Cavallino-Treporti (VE), in the Veneto region of Italy.
- “Restaurant” award, where you can find the culinary excellence of the area: Camping Toblacher See of Dobbiaco (BZ), in Trentino-Alto Adige.
- “Glamping” award, the adventure of camping, but with the comforts of a hotel: Conca D’Oro Camping & Lodge of Baveno (VB), Piedmont.
- “Unusual Accommodation” award: for a vacation in an original accommodation: Lake Placid Campground in Silvi (TE), Abruzzo.
- “Camper” award, the perfect destinations for campers: Flaminio Village Camping Bungalow Park of Rome.
- “Sport” award, sports and outdoor activities in the spotlight: Pineto Beach Village & Camping , in Pineto (TE), Abruzzo.
- “Natural Paradise” award for a vacation immersed in nature: Camping Glamping Village Torre del Porticciolo in Alghero (SS), Sardinia, Located in the Porto Conte Park on the Coral Riviera.
- “Wellness” award, for a break of relaxation and well-being: Fornella Camping & Wellness Family Resort of San Felice del Benaco (BS), in Lombardy.
- “Experience” award, the place to try new experiences: Jesolo International Club of Jesolo (VE), in the Veneto region of Italy.
- “Bathing in the Pitch” award, for those who want to rent a private bath: Baia di Manaccora Tourist Village of Peschici (FG), in Apulia.
