More expensive vacations, including camping. Price increases are not only touching hotels, resorts and vacation homes, this year even outdoor stays are weighing more heavily on the wallets of many tourists who choose the open air. An increase that is being felt, especially in this sector, which has always been associated with a cheaper type of travel.
This is confirmed by the analysis of Camping.info, which attest to a price increase of almost 5 percent across Europe, on average, exactly 4.75 percent more in 2025. Word to the numbers: for a two-person stay (including tourist tax), we are talking on average from 14.18 euros for the cheapest destinations, to 40.40 euros for the most expensive ones.
Among the countries with a higher average we find in first place an unsuspected Croatia, with an average cost for two vacationers of 40.40 euros, and an estimated increase of +4.20 % over 2024; in second place isItaly with 40.40 euros and a plus of +2.96 %, while in third place is Switzerland, respectively with 39.23 euros and an increase of +1.47 %.
Among the cheapest countries are Eastern European destinations, first of allAlbania, with an average of 14.18 euros for a two-person stay and a +4.88 percent increase over 2024, followed by Turkey, with 15.01 euros on average and a +2.88 percent increase.
Camping vacations therefore are more expensive, and rising prices are now a given, but Maximilian Möhrle, managing director of camping.info states, “Camping can still offer excellent value for money. Budget travelers should look for destinations away from the well-known tourist spots and take advantage of discount cards and benefit programs.” Sound advice for keeping expenses down and still enjoying an affordable stay.
