Sandaya: two new five-star acquisitions, continued growth supported by expansion and retention

Sandaya, a leading player in Europe’s high-end outdoor hospitality industry, takes a new step forward in its upward positioning strategy with two outstanding strategic acquisitions:

  • Le Fief*****, facility with 363 pitches, located in the Atlantic coast resort of Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, near the city of Nantes. The campground offers magnificent facilities with a water park that includes indoor and outdoor pools and a spa 800 meters from the beach.
  • Interlude***** facility with 309 pitches located in Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré, a real gem that will strengthen the group’s presence on Île de Ré.

At these two sites, Sandaya will invest about 6 million euros to improve infrastructure, beautify them, and build 100 new high-end accommodations. These acquisitions are part of a controlled expansion dynamic, consolidating the group’s presence in the high-end open-air tourism market.

Growth sustained by expansion and retention

In 2025, Sandaya continued its growth with 10 new integrated campsites, including four in Italy. The network now has 68 facilities and exceeds 24,200 sites, or 1,700 more than in 2024. Total sales including VAT for 2025 reach 357 million euros, up from 310 million euros in 2024, supported by an increase in admissions and a reasonable pricing policy.

A diverse European clientele

The season confirmed the strength of the domestic clientele, which accounted for 56 percent of overnight stays booked, an increase of 5 percent. Foreign clientele also sustained growth:

– +22% of Germans (excluding Italian territory);

– +18% of Spaniards

Investment and positioning strategy at the high end

In parallel, Sandaya is pursuing an ambitious investment program with 70 million euros including VAT expected in 2026 (including 6 million in Italy) to modernize its facilities, particularly those acquired in 2024 and 2025, and strengthen its high-end standards.

The network of campsites under the brand name Clef Verte now has 57 facilities, confirming the group’s commitment to sustainable tourism.

Human capital at the heart of the Sandaya model

Beyond economic results, Sandaya has made human resources policy a key lever to accompany its growth.

In peak season, the group employs 4,100 employees, including 3,300 seasonal workers in the reception, catering, entertainment, maintenance and service sectors. Various measures have also been taken to improve the retention of seasonal workers and their working conditions.

Loïc Cerdan, Human Resources Director of the group explains, “The challenge for us is to attract, but more importantly, to retain seasonal workers so that they return year after year. They already know our facilities, are immediately operational and offer better quality service “.
