Germany: Camping is winning over tourists—nearly one in every eleven overnight stays is at an open-air campground

Outdoor tourism continues to grow in Germany as well. According to the latest data from the Federal Statistical Office, in 2025 nearly 9% of all tourist overnight stays were recorded at campgrounds, confirming the sector’s increasingly central role in Germany’s tourism offerings.
